About Common Wealth

Common Wealth is Canada’s fastest growing group retirement provider. Our award-winning digital platform helps Canadians plan, save, and build secure retirement income. We partner with a nationwide network of advisors and employers, empowering them with modern tools and insights. We are driven by a mission to make financial security in retirement more accessible to everyone.

We are currently hiring a Product Manager to enhance member value by building a simple, comprehensive retirement solution that Canadians trust at every stage of their journey.

About the opportunity

We're at an exciting inflection point - we've grown to serve members across every Canadian province, and we're now building the features that will define the next generation of retirement planning. Our modern tech stack and clean data model give us advantages legacy providers can't match. You'll be working with a high-caliber team that holds the quality bar high while moving fast. We're outcomes-focused and client-centric - every feature we ship is designed to be guided, empathetic, straightforward, and trustworthy

Reporting to the Head of Product, you’ll have the opportunity to bring our product vision to life - a future where every Canadian can achieve financial security in retirement. Today, people working for small and mid-sized employers are left to build retirement savings on their own and this leads to inefficient savings and poor outcomes. You will work on cross functional teams to deliver a trusted, and comprehensive retirement offering that supports members from their first contribution to their last withdrawal. Your work will directly contribute to creating better retirement outcomes and a more inclusive financial future for all.

You’ll interact regularly with clients and stakeholders across the business – we use a continuous discovery model - to build product features that leverage our award-winning digital experience to drive key business metrics.

What you will do:

  • Own and evolve key areas of the member digital experience, improving retirement planning and forecasting tools, contribution set up and investment selection, and product-led growth initiatives

  • Develop deep empathy for Canadians saving for retirement through continuous discovery and regular interactions with clients and client facing teams

  • Build client confidence in their retirement plan and in Common Wealth through guided, empathetic, straightforward and trustworthy experiences

  • Define clear problems, outcomes, and success metrics across the full retirement journey—from a member’s first contribution to their last retirement paycheque

  • Partner closely with engineering and design to test, ship, and iterate on high-quality solutions

  • Collaborate cross functionally with financial planning, client service, sales, and external partners (e.g. group retirement advisors, investment managers, and annuity providers)

  • Identify thoughtful applications of AI

  • Contribute to a strong product culture focused on learning, efficiency, quality, and client impact

Who you are:

Required qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Manager (or equivalent product ownership role), ideally in a technology-driven environment

  • Demonstrated ability to drive outcomes, make decisions with incomplete information, and ship high-quality products within engineering and regulatory constraints

  • Strong product discovery skills, including client research, problem framing, and outcome definition

  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, design, and business stakeholders

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a client-centric mindset

  • Collaborative approach and comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

Preferred / Nice-to-haves

  • Strong interest in personal finance, economics, and/or fintech, with curiosity about how Canadians save for and transition into retirement

  • Experience working in or adjacent to financial services, such as fintech, wealth management, insurance, pensions, or benefits administration

  • Familiarity with the Canadian retirement landscape, including group retirement plans, RRSPs, TFSAs, LIRAs, or decumulation strategies

  • Education or qualifications relevant to the group retirement space, such as:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field

  • CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) or progress toward CFP designation

  • CIM® (Chartered Investment Manager) or IFC (Investment Funds in Canada)

  • Experience working with or alongside group retirement advisors or financial planners

  • Exposure to regulated product environments and collaborating with compliance or legal teams

  • Interest in applying technology (including AI) to deliver guided, trustworthy financial experiences

Why work with us:

Common Wealth is a fast-growing company with a mission to change the lives of Canadians. You’ll be joining a dynamic and flexible work environment where you have the autonomy to shape your role. You’ll have ample opportunities to learn, grow, and advance within the organization while contributing to improving the Canadian retirement landscape. Total compensation includes:

  • Competitive salary: $110,000.00 - $130,000.00

  • 5% employer match into our group retirement plan

  • Medical, dental and vision benefits

  • 4 weeks vacation

  • Home Office Stipend

  • Top of the line hardware

  • Annual Learning & Development Budget

  • Flex Holiday and Summer Friday Program
